Photography & Postcards
The art of photography in Albania dates back to the mid-19th century. The first studio was established in 1858 by Pjeter Marubi in Shkodra, at that time one of the most important cities in Albania. Photographs of ethnographic, historical or geographical interest illustrated dozens of works by foreign authors about Albania, or were published in the form of postcards.
